Gabrielle & Josh's Black-Tie Wedding at Giorgio's Baiting Hollow
Some weddings announce exactly what they're going to be from the very first detail. Gabrielle and Josh's did — a black-tie evening on Long Island's North Fork, at the end of a warm August, held at one of the East End's most quietly beautiful venues. From the invitation suite to the last dance under the chandeliers, every part of the day was considered, elegant, and unmistakably theirs.

The Venue: Why Giorgio's Baiting Hollow Is a Photographer's Dream
Tucked away in Baiting Hollow, near Riverhead on Long Island's North Fork wine trail, Giorgio's is a boutique, family-owned estate that hosts just one wedding at a time. That detail matters more than it sounds: for a full evening, the entire property — grounds, ballroom, suites, gardens — belongs to one couple and their guests. There's no second party next door, no shared timeline. Just your day, unfolding at its own pace.
For a photographer, the grounds are the draw. Within a short walk you have manicured gardens, a vineyard, a golf course rolling into the distance, a private stretch of beach, and the property's signature windmill — a genuinely one-of-a-kind backdrop for portraits and first-look moments. Add a Venetian gazebo and a fountain, and you have a venue where you could shoot all night and never repeat a background. Inside, the ballroom does the opposite kind of work: crystal chandeliers, marble floors, and warm uplighting that turns the whole room golden as the evening goes on.
It's the rare venue that gives you both — lush, natural, outdoor light for portraits, and a grand, glowing interior for the celebration. Gabrielle and Josh used all of it.
The Details
Every wedding has a language, and you can usually read it in the details. Gabrielle and Josh's spoke of classic, timeless elegance — a beautifully lettered invitation suite in soft gold and deep navy, "Black Tie Preferred" set the tone before anyone arrived, and the small, personal pieces (the rings, the jewelry, the getting-ready moments) all carried the same refined, understated taste.

The Ceremony
There's a particular stillness to a ceremony, and our job in it is to disappear — to hold the wide, composed frames while never missing the small human moments happening at the edges: a parent's face, a held breath, the look between two people right before everything changes.
Portraits Across the Grounds
This is where Giorgio's earns its reputation. With the whole estate to themselves, Gabrielle and Josh moved from the gardens to the windmill to the softening light over the golf course as the sun dropped. Late-August golden hour on the North Fork is something special — long, warm, and forgiving — and we built the timeline to be outside for the best of it.
The Reception
As the evening moved indoors, the black-tie elegance came fully into its own: the chandeliers lit, the marble catching the glow, the room full of the people who matter most. The best receptions have a rhythm — the toasts, the first dance, the moment the floor fills and stays full — and this one had all of it.
